Remote Control

Three generations trying to figure out how to program a universal remote. Last quote I heard, "Now it's in Spanish and we only get one channel."

Christmas Tree Hunting...

Every year we go to the same Christmas tree lot and pick out our tree. Cooper was a little more lively this year...to say the least.

This is him saying "cheese" but really eye balling all the trees he was going to knock down.

You probably can't tell but he's yelling "put me down mama".

Covered in sap....

Jon did not want to take this picture...there are so many thoughts running through his head and I'm feel blessed he kept them to himself :)

Cooper wanted to carry the tree so bad...next year buddy!

Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving at the Show household...always entertaining, always a little bit crazy.

Cooper loves his aunt Jess...she is always willing to play with him which is a nice treat for us!

Matt reads the stories so animated...Cooper loved it!

I love this this pic...

Cooper insisted he had a coozie too so he could keep his milk cold...cheers!

Fall Days

Cooper spent a morning "helping" us in the yard...he wanted to do everything himself. He made more of a mess but it was fun to watch him run around!

In deep thought...and working really hard

I wonder where Cooper learns all his bad behavior...hmm...he blows their kid with a leaf blower and smirks?

Notice his hair being "gently" swept away from the wind...or the leaf blower that his dad has directed towards his head

Once again..."helping"

Blown Away Man

We all have dreams - some are fulfilled and some still sit out there waiting for us to keep chasing them. While we'd prefer to achieve our own dreams, there might be some measure of satisfaction watching our children reach a goal that was unattainable in our lifetimes. Today, Cooper made that happen for his dear old dad. Toilet in front of the TV.

Happy Halloween!!!

I know...a little late on my post...I've been traveling way too much. Anyhow, below are pics from Halloween. Jon actually made Cooper's costume, so impressive. He was Bam-Bam.

This was after he got the hang of it..."let's go mama...hurry up"

This was before he realized he was about to venture out and collect free candy for his parents. Jon had to hold him down in order to get his costume on!

Running fast to keep up with his new friends Superman & the Ice Princess.

Cooper kept calling the ice princess Shrek Princess, she did not like it at all but the rest of us found it amusing. Danny, aka Superman was Cooper's tour guide for the night

Bam-Bam

Coop is TWO!!!!

The first year definitely did not go by quickly but we feel like Cooper's 2nd year has flown by! Our little bug is two!!! Below are a few pics from his b-day party.

Cooper loves when Pa-Pa sings him show tunes.

Notice the Christmas wrapping paper...

He wasn't sure if he wanted to eat Muno

This is my favorite...wow...just wait to Christmas Eve at 11pm when we realize we need to put the toys together...LOL!!

I have to toot my horn for a minute...I was pretty proud of my cake!!

Beach Bums

We spent a fun filled afternoon at the beach. Cooper loved the waves and going crazy with his cousins. It was fun to watch Grandpa run around like a kid too...

Cooper's mentor Holden. We've been home for 5 days and Cooper keeps asking "where did Holden go mama"???

GO, GO, GO....

I think this is the coolest pic ever....Sierra & Katelyn

"Pretend City"

Coop & I are in Irvine visiting Matt, Alisa & crew (along with granba & granbma). Jon is at home enjoying his "freedom". Today we went to a place called "pretend city" where they have a doctor's office, post office, grocery store, beach, farm, etc...where kids can pretend they're grown up. Cooper basically tore the place to pieces, it was a lot of fun and he enjoyed his cousins!!

Janitor...hmm....

Going To The Greek

I took Cooper to the Greek festival last week and put him on his first amusement park ride. It was small and went slow so I thought he'd like it. I was wrong. As you can see in the montage he gets angrier the more times he goes around.

On A Jet Plane

When Cooper and I take Michelle to the airport we usually swing by the airport park and watch the planes take off.

Guerilla In The Mist

We headed down to Lake Keowee for part of the Labor Day weekend to stay some friends who make an annual trip down there. Cooper, who has taken to whining quite often, moaned for most of the 3 hour car ride down there. On the morning we woke up to leave, we got these tasteful nudes down by the water right after sunrise. Michelle and Cooper actually watched the sunrise. I woke up later and took pictures.

Boo Boo

Michelle and I usually split up park trips with Cooper. All three of us went one time and I thought it was admirable (yet odd) how interactive Michelle was on the kids playground equipment. Great mom? Without a doubt. Weird lady trying to make it across the monkey bars? Possibly. Anyway, tonight she fell from some piece of playground equipment and appears to have a mild ankle sprain.

Couch Potatoes

Michelle's college roommate is in town with her two kids. It took then all of an hour to dump all the kids on me. I've got two watching a Seuss DVD and the other watching the TV.

Squirrel Hunters

Some of you are aware of my intense dislike of tree rats (squirrels). There was a time when I didn't have a problem with squirrels. For a photography class in college I once submitted a nice picture of a squirrel peering at me around a tree. Then, three years ago we bought a house that had squirrels living in the attic. When sealed up the holes they were entering through, the chewed a hold in the roof flashing. Then (I can only assume as revenge) they dug small holes in my grass this fall and spring after I spent hours upon hours trying to grow grass. So now I hate them. In fact, I penned a blog for two years that was named after my desire to eliminate them from the Earth.

So I took Cooper to the park this morning and for the first time, he appeared to get excited about squirrels. I kindly explained to him that they are disease-ridden, card-carrying members of the rat family, and we hate them. Then I positioned him under a tree and taught him to scowl at the tree rats.

I like his form here. Ready to pounce in case on has the guts to come down the tree.

We're off to the South Park area this afternoon for an immunization shot and then heading to Dick's Sporting Goods, which I assume sells a child's BB gun. Death to the tree rats ...

Pool Boy

Cooper and I have spent a lot of time at pools this summer. To his credit, he's only pooped in two of them. We started the spring with the Norwegian Buttcrack Princess (a tall thin European woman who came to the Y pool for a couple weeks in May with her butt crack showing), moved on to various feuds with the lifeguards (the bar bouncers of the summer), and had approximately half a dozen buckets stolen from the splash pool. I'm tired of carrying his stuff so I turned his Lego wagon into a pool wagon.
