New Year's Eve

My parents watched Cooper for Jon & I on New Year's Eve so we could have a night off and have some fun! THANKS MOM & DAD for giving us a night off :):) We went to the Canyons to watch the fireworks and listen to a band in the freezing cold. We had some warm drinks to keep us moving...my feet were frozen! Afterwards, we went to a friend's house for a little party but couldn't even hang out very long because we were all so tired. We ended up back at Kelley & Pete's house at 11:45pm so we could bring in the New Year and go to bed immediately! These pics were taken in the beginning of the night, when we were all still awake!

Not a lot has changed since college....all we do is laugh together. I love my girls!

Shasta & Greg....Shasta says that '09 is going to be her year to get engaged & prego!! Go Shasta!

Cooper's First Christmas!!

Cooper spent his first Christmas Eve & morning up at the lake with Jon's family. We flew Christmas day to Utah to visit my family. Of course....our flight was delayed out of Charlotte & we missed our connection in Phoenix but we eventually made it to Utah...14 hrs. later! Cooper was a real trooper, he was great until we were about 30 minutes from landing in Utah and then he had a minor melt down but we survived!

Jon's grandpa (who is the sweetest man I've ever known) is in Charlotte for a visit. Grandpa Bob & Cooper actually have very similar nap schedules....it's funny how life comes full circle!

Cooper is smiling a lot these days & it is so much fun!! We enjoy making him giggle too...he finds so much amusing, it's easy!

Jill captured this on one of their walks. Jill is great, has time off from nursing school before next semester so she comes by almost every day and gives me a break. Thank goodness for sisters!

On the changing table again...I had no idea babies crapped their pants at least 8 times a day! I had him laughing so hard here, it was adorable.

Shirtless

I read somewhere that it helps dad & baby bond if they spend time together chest to chest. So I encourage Jon to take off his shirt on a regular basis and snuggle with Cooper. Jon thinks it's weird but he's been a good sport about playing along. I think these pics are cute...and funny.

It's Official

Jon insisted that we take our names off our stockings and write MOM & DAD on them instead. I guess since it says so on our stockings...we're officially a mom & a dad. I am so sleep deprived I feel more like a zombie but whatever....

The night we decorated the tree. It took us twice as long because Coop Man kept screaming.

The hat makes him look cute... for two seconds. He screamed in my ear right after we took this picture. The kid definitely has some powerful, working lungs!

Christmas Tree Tradition

Every year Jon & I go to the same Christmas Tree lot & get our tree. It usually takes us an hour to decide & agree on a tree but this year we found our tree in 5 minutes!! Cooper slept the entire time which was great; we of course used him as a prop in our photos. It was fun to take him and drag him around the lot, even if he had no idea what was going on.
