You'll notice a car in the background. Five cars pulled up while we were there. They watched planes take off and then drove away. I find this both fascinating and scary. Who goes to the airport to watch planes take off?
You'll notice a garbage can located between Cooper and the plane about to take off. The park only had two rules listed on the sign at the entrace: No Drinking and Dispose Of All Garbage. There were beer cans laying all over the place.
We've had a fantastic time. Chris was actually able to watch the finals of the bobsled with us since his team wasn't able to race (one guy's knee was too swollen). We all felt a little somber once the Olympics ended but fixed our sorrows with a couple great days of snow boarding!!
This has been amazing so far. We watched Chris & his team push off third today on their first run and on his 2nd...his poor team crashed. It was heartbreaking and terrifying all at the same time. They work so hard to get to the Olympics and to watch their dreams disappear in 2 seconds is very hard to digest. Chris of course is extremely bummed out and discouraged but he has fire in his belly to compete in Russia in 2014. Below are a few pics from today.
All of us...before his first race....we were so excited!
